In this heartfelt and incisive new novel, Danielle Steel celebrates the virtues of unconventional beauty while exploring deeply resonant issues of weight, self-image, sisterhood, and family.
Victoria -a chubby little girl with blond hair, blue eyes and ordinary looks – has always felt out of place in her family. When her younger sister Gracie is born, their parents make no secret of the fact that she is the perfect one. While they can eat as much as they like and not gain an ounce, Victoria must watch every mouthful, as well as endure her father’s belittling comments about her appearance and see her academic achievements go unacknowledged. Ice cream and oversized helpings of all the wrong foods offer only temporary comfort. The one thing she knows is that she has to get as far away from home as possible and, after college in Chicago she moves to New York City.
There, Victoria finds joy and excitement as a high school teacher while waging war on her weight among the sleek and slinky at Manhattan’s fitness clubs. Her lifeline to her family is through Gracie – though they can’t be more different in looks, style, or social lives, the two sisters love each other unconditionally.Victoria knows that she has been a disappointment to her parents all her life and no matter what she does, she can never win their approval. A chance encounter, an act of stunning betrayal, and a family confrontation lead to a turning point in the lives of Victoria and Gracie. Behind Victoria is all the hurt, neglect, and loss she has tried to forget – ahead is a new life of sisterhood, confidence and fulfillment.

Instant Wealth Wake Up Rich!: Discover The Secret of The New Entrepreneurial Mind

Instant Wealth Wake Up Rich! by Christopher Howard
The power to create great wealth is already within you. But monetizing that raw energy doesn’t happen by itself. As Howard shows, building great wealth is a dual process. It begins by identifying your passion—the things you truly and deeply care about, whatever they may be. Next, passion needs to be endowed with purpose: a clearly defined vision of the future you intend to create.
Once this happens, money is simply the natural reward. When you bring the value of passion and purpose to the marketplace, financial prosperity is the instant result. It’s like awakening to a new reality—not just for yourself, but for everyone who shares in your success. And make no mistake: sharing is a key element in the success of Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Richard Branson, and the other billionaire entrepreneurs
Howard introduces in these pages. Instant Wealth Wake Up Rich! proves that ultimate success is by no means a matter of selling out principles in order to become rich. On the contrary, it’s becoming rich in order to bring that riches to the world.

Mr. Midnight is a children’s horrors series written by Jim Aitchison under the pseudonym of James Lee. The series is published by Angsana Books. There are currently 57 “episodes” of this book being distributed with more being written and released around every two to four months. It has been translated into Burmese, Malay, Indonesian, Simplified Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese.
James Lee (Aitchison) resides in Singapore and is also the author of The Seriously Funny Anti-Stress Book, Sarong Party Girl and the national songs such as “One People, One Nation, One Singapore” and “My Singapore Story” and even a children’s mystery-fiction series called Mr. Mystery. A new series has been released with books 55, 56 and 57 called ‘The Young Immortals’.
Another new book called ‘Howl’ is released with Books 58,59 and special edition 1.
Each book in the series contains two stories. The first book was titled “Madman’s Mansion” and “The Monster in Mahima’s Mirror”.
Jim Aitchison’s books are very popular among young children and preteens and has been regarded as “Asia’s answer to Harry Potter”.
A movie titled Mr. Midnight the Movie: My Haunted Holiday was planned and used to be in production but was canceled as the producers thought the movie would not suit the books style.

Mr. Midnight Series by James Lee
James Lee
Aitchison is a Singapore Permanent Resident, and the Australian has been living in Singapore since 1983. Before he became a full-time writer, Aitchison was a voice actor, and creative director of an advertising agency. He has also published books on business and advertising.
Under the pseudonym of James Lee, Aitchison’s Mr. Midnight series has captivated young readers since 1998, with over 1.5 million copies of Mr. Midnight books sold. The books are horror fiction stories with different characters featured. Readers are invited to send in their stories, which Aitchison then fleshes out in his books. His publisher, Flame Of The Forest, came up with the idea of publishing an Asian series of horror and suspense stories for children, using Asian names and backdrops. It wanted to provide children in the region with reads that they could identify with, a change from books from the West that centred on white children. The Mr. Midnight series was sold to other Asian countries such as Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam
In March 2006, Aitchison launched the Mr. Mystery series, books catering to the same demographic group, with murder mystery stories solved by a group of characters.
In June 2009, Aitchison launched a new series called The Young Immortals, centering Three kids- Train Tang, Jeffry Hunter and Tamaryn.
Aitchison’s other works include the Sarong Party Girl series (1994, 1995, 1996), The Seriously Funny Anti-Stress Book (1995), and Terror In Bali: An Eyewitness Account (2003). He also wrote the national songs “One People, One Nation, One Singapore” and “My Singapore Story” for the National Day Parades.
